Meet at the picnic area accross from the main parking lot. Wear layers, appropriate footwear for muddy/slippery trails and uneven terrain, bring at least a quart of water, and if desired, a snack, binoculars, and/or a camera. We invite you to bring a reusable drink container so your little ones can enjoy hot cocoa after the walk, if desired. Heavy rains cancel, with a rain date of Saturday, December 6. Parking fees apply.
Ease of access: The main parking lot has one van-designated parking spot and an accessible vault toilet. There's no running water or cell service in this area. The main lot connects to Stern Rd Trail by a short spur trail that is fairly flat and single track. Stern Rd Trail is a fire road of approximately 0.5 miles to the Stern Ranch property. There are no trails in this area.
