The Moon in April is also known as the Sugar Moon, (Ziissbaakdoke Giizas) in the Ojibwe Nation.
As we say farewell to the winter season and prepare for springtime, the maple sap begins to run. Sugar was one of the main medicines given to the people to balance the blood and heal us. During this time, we should reflect on the sweetness of life, understanding how we need to be in balance, body mind and spirit, just as we need to keep our blood sugar in balance.
The Sweat Lodge ceremony is the bringing together of the Human and Divine through the act of prayer to bring purification and healing. It is a very powerful ceremony as the combination of all four elements; four directions; four powers; four ages of humankind comes together in the Sweat Lodge.
This Sacred Ceremony gives you the opportunity to bring change and transformation into your life by looking at your thoughts and feelings, to clearly see your intentions.
