Tennis legend and beloved broadcaster Sue Barker joins the Isle of Wight Literary Festival to share her extraordinary life on and off the court.In her memoir “Wimbledon: A Personal History”, Sue reflects on over 50 years of connection with the world’s most famous tournament – from her debut as a schoolgirl player in 1969, to her three decades fronting the BBC’s iconic Wimbledon coverage.
With a career-high world ranking of No. 3 and a Grand Slam victory at the 1976 French Open, Sue takes us on a journey from Paignton to Paris, recounting friendships with greats such as Billie Jean King, Chrissie Evert, Martina Navratilova, John McEnroe, Bjorn Borg and more.
