About this Event
Overview
Skip the usual plant class. This is living art.
Join me for a relaxed, hands-on Succulent Shell Workshop in my colorful Point Loma backyard. The setting is made for Instagram, with plenty of time to roam, explore, and take photos.
In this workshop, you’ll create your own sculptural succulent arrangement in a beautiful natural shell using a curated selection of high-quality plants.
You're here to be creative, so there's no cookie-cutter template to follow, although I'm happy to guide you. You'll design your shell to your liking and come away with something you love.
What you’ll do:
- Choose from a curated selection of premium succulents
- Design a sculptural arrangement in a natural shell
- Learn simple techniques for balance, spacing, and composition
- Create a piece that feels organic, elevated, and personal
What’s included:
- Natural shell vessel (6")
- Premium succulents (you choose your favorites)
- Soil + materials
- Use of tools
- Step-by-step guidance (as much or little as you need)
The setting:
Hosted in my colorful, photogenic Point Loma backyard. The surfboard fence, tiki bar, pink flamingo, and vibrant colors offers endless creative inspiration. This home was the "fan favore" on the most recent Point Loma Garden Walk because it's so playful and fun.
Who it’s perfect for:
- Friends’ outings
- Mothers and daughters
- Creative afternoons
- Anyone looking for something more inspiring than a typical workshop
Good to know:
Monthly workshops are held on select weekends.
Private group workshops are also available - please get in touch for details and dates.
About me, your host:
I’m Alexandra Watkins, founder of Poolside Succulents. For nearly a decade, I’ve been designing bold, modern succulent arrangements in unexpected and design-forward containers. I love teaching others how to create beautiful pieces with an eye for color, texture, and form. My other passion is decorating my @sandiegobitchinbackyard. I look forward to welcoming you into my colorful world.
