Instructor: Robert Bowden

We live in an area with a unique climate which gives us the opportunity to grow a wide variety of fruits and berries. The warm winters and hot summers of this USDA zone 9 tropical climate mean year-round growing for gardeners. Enjoy a class presented by Robert Bowden, the author of Florida Fruit and Vegetable Gardening (now in its third edition) to learn more about growing them in Florida. One lucky person will receive a fruit tree at the end of the class!

Robert Bowden recently retired as Executive Director of Leu Gardens after nearly three decades. Earlier in his career he was the Executive Director of the Atlanta Botanical Garden, Director of Horticulture of the Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis, and Assistant Director of Old Westbury Gardens on Long Island. He is the author of many books including Florida Fruit & Vegetable Gardening: Plant, Grow, and Harvest the Best Edibles and the Florida Top Ten Garden Guide. He also teaches several horticulture classes in the Science Department at Valencia State College.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available to FNGLA Certified Professionals upon request.

Participants.must withdraw from classes at least five days prior to the start of class in order to receive a full refund or credit. If we must cancel a class, we will make every effort to inform you prior to the class time, and you will receive a full refund or credit. Only those registered for the class will be permitted in the classroom. Childcare services are not provided.
