About this Event
STÖR is more than a parody of a notorious Swedish Retailer. It’s an immersive rebrand of how we experience, consume, and purchase art.
A familiar array of navigational cues, fully furnished vignettes, and the promise of meatballs offers a broad crowd of viewers the opportunity to explore and shop original art without the perceived barriers to artworld participation.
Within the expansive and immersive labyrinth, guests are called to contemplate a variety of topics relating to art, design, commerce, and societal norms while being blissfully stimulated with surreal reinterpretations of home goods and decor by Mary Anne Carter, Lilia Deering, and 25+ other participating artists.
We welcome visitors to pay-what-you-can with a suggested donation of $15. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Proceeds go to the artists who created the installation. Thank you to Paul G. Allen Family Foundation and the Seattle Office of Arts and Culture for generous support of this exhibition.

Base Camp Studios is an artists’ collective and gallery located in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood. Currently, fourteen artists have studio space at 2407 1st Ave. Our gallery exhibits new shows monthly and has shown over 700 unique artists since May 2022. Our robust public programming is aimed at cultivating a diverse creative community. We strive to be the hippest creative space in Seattle.
In September 2023, Base Camp Studios expanded to include a second location at 1901 3rd Ave. In addition to the large-scale installation space, Base Camp Studios 2 will include over 30 affordable artist studios scheduled to open in November.
Both Base Camp Studios locations were formerly vacant spaces activated for community benefit. Base Camp Studios is fiscally sponsored by Shunpike. Our galleries are supported by the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation, and generous supporters like you.
