Join our tutor Alice White, contemporary artist and Lecturer, for this absorbing afternoon.
Alice will give two lectures examining the changes to the language of painting from the 17th to the 21st centuries.
She provides a painterly perspective on famous artworks, revealing Rembrandt and Turner as artistic risk-takers, whose new combinations of glazes, surfaces, pigments and processes re-defined the art of painting.
These two forefathers of experimentation led the way for modern
artists such as Pollock and Fontana, who went beyond the brush, the canvas, and the gallery wall itself, in search of the meaning of making.
