Join us for a two-part watercolor workshop presented in conjunction with “Shacks, Stories and Spirit: Beverly Buchanan’s Art of Home.” Local artist Lauren Adams will guide you through the process of creating a fun and funky house portrait. No experience is required. We’ll cover the basics of watercolor, along with adding depth and detail to your painting. You’ll start by practicing fundamental watercolor techniques before moving on to painting your house. $25 for Donating-level members; $35 for all others. Space is limited and registration is required. Registration link to come.
The workshop will be held February 19 and 26, 6 – 8 p.m.
A Southern artist and a native of rural middle Georgia, Lauren Adams has explored and experimented with painting and drawing most of her life. Inspired by her southern roots and the natural world, her work runs the gamut from figurative to landscape and beyond. Adams holds a master of fine arts degree in painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design, and in addition to her studio practice, currently teaches painting classes at community arts centers in the Southeast.
