About this Event
Most people don’t struggle necessarily with lighting.
They struggle with taste.
Swimwear is where that shows up fast.
On July 5, we’re shifting this workshop into a studio swimwear editorial class. Not the cliché version. Not random bikinis under harsh lights with no direction. We’re talking about building images that actually look like they belong in a campaign, a lookbook, or a stylized commercial spread.
Clean. Intentional. Designed.
Swimwear in studio can go wrong quickly. It can feel cheap, forced, or overly sexualized without purpose. This class is about pulling it back into something controlled, elevated, and visually coherent.
I’ll be shooting tethered during demos, so you’ll see everything as it’s built in real time. Light placement, exposure, micro-adjustments in pose, expression, styling choices… all of it. What works, what doesn’t, and why.
Briana Noir is co-instructing, and that matters more here than ever. Swimwear lives or dies on how the subject carries it. You’ll watch how she reads the light, adjusts her body to it, and shapes the image from her side of the lens. This is not just “model as subject.” This is collaboration, and we’ll break that down openly from both perspectives.
No guessing. No “we’ll fix it later.”
We’re focusing on building images that are finished in-camera.
Here’s what we’ll actually dig into:
- Shaping light for skin, texture, and form without flattening everything
- Styling swimwear with intention using simple wardrobe and accessories
- Avoiding the “cheap swim shoot” look and pushing toward commercial polish
- Directing pose and expression so it feels natural but still designed
- Understanding how subtle changes in body position affect the entire frame
- Working with your subject so the image feels cohesive, not staged
- Developing an eye for what makes something look editorial versus amateur
You’ll shoot. Plenty. But like always, this isn’t about volume. It’s about awareness and control.
These are kept small on purpose. You’re not standing in the back watching. You’re in the process, asking questions, adjusting, seeing the results immediately.
If you’ve ever tried to shoot swimwear and felt like it came out looking "off" even when everything should have worked, this is exactly for that gap.
July 5.
We’re going to slow it down, strip away the noise, and build swimwear images that actually hold up.
There is also limited availability to book one-on-one time with Briana Noir immediately after the workshop. This is optional and booked separately at her hourly rate. For details, reach out to her .
