About this Event
Studio Students Cycle 1: Who I Am
Welcome to Studio Students: Studio Exploration — join us on June 4, 2026 at 12:25 PM for the first session of our summer series for teen artists.
Today is about meeting the materials on your own terms. Students will dedicate one sketchbook page to each medium — watercolor, graphite, pen, charcoal, and colored pencil — making notes on feel, control, and personal preference. This is the beginning of a sketchbook practice that continues across the whole summer.
We'll also play "What Era Is This?" — six works shown without labels, students place them on a timeline and discuss what visual clues gave the period away. Art history as visual detective work.
Whether your child has fills sketchbooks at home, or wishes art class could last a bit longer in school, this course is designed to meet them exactly where they want to be. Bring your curiosity and let's make something completely new! Register for all 4 days and use code CYCLE1JUNE at checkout to save.
