Join us for an insightful presentation with Robert Franklin on the STARS Program, a five-year U.S.-Japan cultural exchange initiative co-hosted by Washington State University Tri-Cities (WSUTC) and Columbia Basin College (CBC), in partnership with Higashi Nippon International University (HNIU) and Fukushima College. The program connects Hanford’s restoration expertise with Fukushima’s revitalization efforts while giving students the opportunity to experience each other’s cultures, represent the Tri-Cities region, and explore how restoration impacts communities across the globe. Robert, who helped develop the Hanford Nuclear Lecture Series, served as a faculty chaperone, and is part of the core team coordinating student exchanges, will share his experiences and lessons learned from this unique cultural and historical program.
Discover how international collaboration, cultural exchange, and hands-on learning shape the next generation of leaders in nuclear restoration and community revitalization.
