About this Event
Course Description: Parents need information about their children’s development and ideas for how to parent at every stage. Knowledge of parenting and child development is one of the protective factors that help to prevent child maltreatment. In this course you will define what it means for parents to have knowledge of parenting and child development and identify actions you can take to help increase this knowledge among families you serve. You will also create a plan to intentionally integrate these ideas into your everyday work.
Training Outcomes: Attendees will leave this workshop with a better understanding of what it means to have knowledge of parenting and child development and will develop a deeper understanding of how this knowledge can help parents to be more confident and help their children develop. Participants will be able to identify ways that culture influence how parents raise their children and explore new strategies that systems can use to strengthen parenting.
