ACVS is proud to present Dr. Dara Rampersad Ph.D, LPC, NCC who is a First Responder and Forensic psychologist who is certified in Crisis Intervention Teams (CIT) as a CIT Coordinator, and is trained in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) and FBI-Crisis Negotiator Teams (CNT). In addition, Dr. Rampersad is a nationally board certified counselor, with over 27 years of experience in the mental health field.
On Day 1 of the training, Dr. Rampersad will address de-escalation techniques for victims dealing with mental health, substance abuse, grief or victimization. He will also cover dealing with the long term effects of working in this field and how that affects interpersonal relationships.
Day 2 will consist of local experts who will provide an overview of working with victims of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, Mental Health and Substance abuse and a recap of resiliency factors. This section will allow attendees to dialogue with the trainers to address real-life situations and brainstorm how to effectively address crisis situation.
