We’re also excited to introduce husband & wife team ‘Burns Unit’ with their upbeat indie funk rocking the garden as well as Salisbury DJ Academy graduate Stacy Lucas, fresh from her amazing set at Party in the Square.
This May bank holiday we’re fundraising for The Bread Menace Community Space, an exciting new project coming to Fisherton Street Salisbury, there will be QR codes for donations on the day. From the Bread Menace:
“This fundraiser is to establish a community space in Salisbury called “THE BREAD MENACE”, making use of a high street shop that has been empty for around 15 years.
The space will operate as a small, self-sustaining bread, coffee, wine, and book shop, open to the public as a genuine and desperately needed “third space” — somewhere people can eat, read, talk, and learn.
Once open, the shop will:
* Sell bread, coffee, wine, and books to cover its running costs
* Provide a stable space for community education, creative work, and mutual aid
* Reinvest any surplus directly back into the local community
This is not a charity model nor a short-term pop-up. The goal is a financially sustainable space that supports:
* affordable food access and free meal days
* political, legal, and economic education
* creative and cultural activity
* reducing social alienation and disengagement
THE BREAD MENACES exists to encourage a vibrant, interconnected community with a healthy local circular economy of small businesses, trades, skills, and neighbourhoods that can rely on one another.”
