About this Event
Street Medicine in Practice: Capacity-Building through Individual Empowerment
The second-annual Vanderbilt Homeless Health Conference will build upon last year’s discussions of physician-advocacy by formally introducing attendees to Street Medicine, a field that necessarily combines clinical care with an understanding of the social and structural drivers of health.
Attendees interested in medical careers will learn hands-on skills directly relevant to their clinical training, such as CPR and AED, wound care, blood pressure, and Narcan use. Attendees interested in community health will hear from experts navigating Street Medicine in Nashville’s current policy landscape, which can be more broadly applied to other cities across the U.S.
Altogether, we hope you leave the conference empowered with the knowledge and skills to engage in coalition-building and collective changemaking. Register now to secure your spot!
