Come along to this workshop to explore colour, technique and street art trends in a controlled environment. This class is suitable for 10-17 year olds. Jon will talk about spray can control, stencilling, and various other techniques. It will be held in the carpark area between Aurora Fae and Artezans (opposite Bendigo Bank) and while we've allocated 3 hours, the last hour is for fine-tuning and q&a.
All materials will be provided and students will take home a canvas of their artwork to hang up at home as well as the skills to repEat the process!
The Geeveston Art Show's Artist Development Programme is proudly sponsored by Bendigo's Community Bank Huon Valley and is run to provide local artists and aspiring artists the chance to explore their passion. We encourage you to head to Community Bank Huonville's Socials and give them a like, for funding this programme!
Jon Watson will be leading the workshop and be assisted by Robbie Lancaster. Jon and Robbie both have Working with Vulnerable people credentials.
Jon Watson won the Geeveston Art Show first prize in 2024 for Works on Paper and was a finalist in the 2023 Street Art Awards Australia. Whether it's capturing the essence of a loved one in soft pastel hues or transforming blank walls into breathtaking masterpieces, Jon's artistry knows no bounds. He's delighted to be bringing his extensive experience with youth workshops to the Geeveston Art Show.
