The Strathcona Symphony Orchestra’s Performance of Beethoven’s 5th Symphony Is the Main Event for December’s ConcertsThe Strathcona Symphony Orchestra (SSO) musicians are looking forward to seeing familiar and new faces at their upcoming concerts on Saturday, December 6th (7 pm) and Sunday, December 7th (2 pm) at Courtenay’s Filberg Centre.
We have been busy rehearsing at the North Island Distance Education School (check out their wonderful piano in today’s Facebook photos), and we can’t wait to play for you!
The main event of the Transitions program will be Beethoven’s 5th Symphony. Concertgoers will be delighted when they get to experience one of the classical world’s most iconic and memorable pieces, starting with the powerful introduction, “dah dah dah dum” in the first movement. There are +70 musicians who plan to shake the rafters of the Filberg Centre with their playing, led by their new Music Director, Kenji Fusé.
We realize there are a lot of events to choose from during the holiday season, and the SSO would dearly appreciate the community’s love and support by attending one (or both!) of their December concerts.
Tickets can be purchased online at https://strathcona-symphony-orchestra.tickit.ca/ or at the door, if available (cash sales).
