About this Event
Presentations are a common form of communication in the professional world. Presentations and public speaking are also some of the most anxiety-provoking activities that professionals are regularly required to do. Many of us, consciously or unconsciously, are comparing ourselves to viral presentations that we’ve seen online. But those highly polished and deeply engaging presentations didn’t just happen magically because the presenter was born talented. They’re the result of thoughtful preparation and practice—and if we put in the time and effort, we can make sure that our presentations are engaging and effective too.
Whether you’re presenting internally to leadership or externally to colleagues within and beyond your field, it’s important to make the most of your presentation opportunities by being strategic and intentional. Who are you presenting to? What is your goal for the presentation? What are the parameters for your presentation? How will you handle potential problems before or during your presentation? This workshop goes beyond common ‘dos’ and ‘don’ts’ of presenting, to share practical applications of adult learning theory and provide a template for preparing strategic presentations.
By registering for this workshop, you are agreeing to use a webcam during discussion and breakout room portions of the workshop. Please also commit to actively participating for the benefit of yourself and the group. Due to the progression of materials presented and the paired exercises, we cannot admit participants who are more than 15 minutes late. More information can be found in the FAQ page on our website.
