Join us on April 24th at 7pm for STRAP ON THE MIC - a sapphic comedy open mic! Whether you're a comedian looking for some stage time with us or just seeking a queer centered night of comedy - this one is for you!
Co-Produced by KP Peters & MacKenzie Shapira, comedic hopefuls have a chance to sign up night of for a five minute set at the mic! Featured throughout open mic slots will be sets by our producers and featured performers Kim Iheme & Gwen Rose.
Doors at 6pm with a one hour happy hour until our show begins at 7pm. Dorothy remains open after the show until last call at 11pm.
Tickets are $12 in advance and $17 at the door.
Dorothy is 21+ and requires physical ID for all to enter. Dorothy is also ADA accessible with elevator access on Campbell Ave. If you are a guest who requires elevator access, please wait by the black door on Campbell Ave with our logo in the window and call our staff to assist: 773-770-3799

ABOUT YOUR HOSTS & FEATURES
MacKenzie Shapira (co-producer) - MacKenzie Shapiro is a clown, comedian, and producer based in Chicago. She was nominated for “Best Comedian” in the Chicago reader, is a local staple, and has performed around the world. MacKenzie produces Gems, Slumber Party at the Lincoln Lodge and teaches clown at the Newport Theater.
KP Peters (Co-producer) - Kailah Peters (K.P.) describes her writing as confessions her soul makes to her mind - Her soul thinks a lot about the female orgasm. Her work weaves between poetry and comedy, finding a niche and community as a co-producer of Giggle Hour, a monthly comedic poetry show hosted at the Lincoln Lodge. Catch her being overly vulnerable on the internet and around the city or, most likely, just asking to pet your dog.
Kim Iheme (featured perfomrer) is a Chicago-based standup comedian, writer, and producer known for her sharp wit, infectious energy, and unique perspective as a first generation Nigerian-American from Minnesota. She started her comedy journey at UCB East in New York before making Chicago her home.
Beyond the stage, Kim is the founder of 6to10 Productions, a POC and LGBTQIA-centered production company dedicated to amplifying diverse voices in comedy and reality-based storytelling. She is also a part of the Winter 2025 Cohort of the P.A. Workforce Training Program at Chicago Filmmakers, expanding her expertise in film and television production.
Gwen Rose (Featured performer) was named by Time Out Magazine in association with Hulu as a comedian to watch in 2025. She is a regular and headliner at her home club the Laugh Factory and plays every major club in the city including the Den where she has opened for Julio Torres, River Butcher and Bobcat Goldthwait. She has a monthly show at the Lincoln Lodge called Gwen Rose and Allies.
