StoryTelling Quilts with Laura R. Gadson
American quilts have been made for warmth and home elegance, but some are created to tell and preserve the stories of people and history. Story quilts are often pictorial representations of events, topics, and lived experiences, expressing meaning through rich imagery and symbolism. Join teaching artist Laura R. Gadson for a special two-part workshop celebrating women’s stories through the art of Storytelling quilts.
Session 1: March 25, 2026 | 4–6 PM
Artist talk, Q&A, and design prep for your paper quilt square.
Session 2: April 1, 2026 | 4–6 PM
Create and assemble your quilt square using decorative papers and mixed materials.
No experience necessary. All materials provided.
