Camp Description
Where stories are drawn, built, and brought to life! Storybook Studio is a week-long summer art camp for children ages 6–11 that blends visual art, storytelling, and imagination in a relaxed, supportive environment—no tests, grades, or pressure. Through drawing, design, and hands-on making, campers explore how stories unfold through images, characters, and playful creation.
Throughout the week, young artists will write and illustrate their own mini books using stapled or accordion formats, design expressive character sheets that explore emotion and personality, and create storyboard-style comics that show beginning, middle, and end narratives. Campers will also bring their stories to life through puppet making, using paper bags, sticks, or socks for imaginative storytelling and performance.
At The Hub on Canal, we believe creativity builds confidence and communication. Storybook Studio offers a welcoming space where kids can experiment freely, collaborate with peers, and discover that storytelling can be joyful, visual, and uniquely their own.
Eligibility
Open to students entering Grades 1–6.
Schedule & Attendance
Camp runs Tuesday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Classes conclude at 2:00 PM, with pick-up between 2:00–2:30 PM. Children must be signed in and out daily by a parent or legal guardian. Advance notice is required for early or late drop-off or pick-up, and alternate guardians must present a valid photo ID.
Registration Policy
All camp registrations are non-refundable. If a child is unable to attend, the registration fee will be treated as a donation to The Hub on Canal and applied toward future student scholarships.
Lunch & Snacks
Campers should bring a labeled lunch and snack each day. Refrigeration is not available; cold packs are recommended.
Health & Safety
Parents must inform us of any allergies, medical conditions, or health concerns. This information will remain confidential and shared only with instructors as needed.
