About this Event
Each Extraordinary Stories session begins with a warm welcome and interactive storytime, where children are invited to listen, reflect, and share ideas inspired by picture books rooted in Black history and culture.
After storytime, participants transition into a guided art experience designed to be open-ended and accessible. Projects focus on symbolism, storytelling, and personal expression rather than technical skill. Children are encouraged to explore materials, ask questions, and make creative choices at their own pace.
Sessions are designed to support multiple age groups, with gentle scaffolding for younger children and deeper reflection opportunities for older participants. Caregivers are welcome to create alongside their children or observe.
