About this course

This course is for parents/carers and their children who are in the Early Years (aged 3-5 years). We’ll explore well-known stories such as: The Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Tiger Who Came to Tea and We’re Going on a Bear Hunt.

This practical course will give ideas about how to support your child with literacy and numeracy.

Activities will cover a wide range of topics from science, literacy, art and numeracy.

All sessions are mapped to the Early Learning Goals.

Throughout the course, we will look at:

  • How to take a story and use it for a wider learning experience.
  • Simple to use ideas that can be done easily at home.
  • How to incorporate Maths and English in fun and creative ways.
  • Plenty of art ideas and the theory behind them.
  • Build your confidence in supporting your child’s learning – and have fun together too

What will learners achieve by the end of the course?

  • A range of strategies and activities for supporting their child/ren with fun and interactive learning.
  • An insight into how to take a story as a basis for a wide learning experience.
  • Be able to apply what they have learnt to other stories too

Learners should bring water and a snack for adults and children

There are 8 child and 8 adult places
