About our Speaker: Derek Ortt, CFCP, is the Business Continuity Manager and Senior tropical meteorologist at StormGeo, having joined the Company in 2010 and becoming the business continuity manager in 2022. Derek has nearly 2 decades experience in forecasting tropical cyclones. Since joining StormGeo, Derek has also conducted hurricane table top exercises for clients and has presented at various meteorology and business continuity conferences. Derek earned a B.S. in meteorology and applied mathematics from the University of Miami in 2005, and a M.S. in meteorology from the University of Miami in 2007. Derek was certified as an ABCP from DRII in 2022 and CFCP in 2024.
