Join the Mosaic Film Experience for an evening of powerful student-made films and meet the young creators who brought these stories to life.
About this Event

Mosaic Film Experience recently collaborated with Newman's Own Foundation on Nourishing Narratives: Youth Stories for Change, a national youth mobile film competition where students share their experiences with food justice, and spark new ideas for creating a fair and just food system for everyone.

Nourising Narratives Sizzle Reel

The Evening will begin with Living Histories: Grand Rapids, which gave students hands-on experience learning directly from industry mentors. The film tells the Grand Rapids story through interviews with leaders in education, industry, and social justice throughout West Michigan's diverse communities. Living Histories: Grand Rapids interviews will air on WGVU in 2026 and be archived at the Grand Rapids Public Museum. This project is the first in an ongoing series supported by Sony Electronics' CREATE ACTION grant.

Living Histories Behind The Scenes Video

Each film will be introduced by community leaders, with time to celebrate the students involved after each screening and learn about upcoming opportunities within Mosaic Film Experience's 2026 educational programming.

You'll hear from:
- Skot Welch, Founder and President, Mosaic Film Experience
- Bridget Clark Whitney, President and Founding CEO of Kids' Food Basket
- John D. Loeks, Chairman, Studio C/ Loeks Theatres
- Bing Goei, CEO, Eastern Floral and Goei Center
- West Michigan youth
- And other special guests

Tickets are $15 and include event access and popcorn. Proceeds support Mosaic Film Experience and Kids' Food Basket, nourishing children to reach their full potential and empowering young storytellers in our community.
