Stories of Starved Rock Community Hiking Meet Up

We are inviting Illinois residents to take part in a storytelling and documentary project centered on Starved Rock State Park. This project brings people together across backgrounds to share personal stories, memories, and reflections connected to this iconic place. 

Who Can Participate? 

• Illinois residents of all racial, cultural, and generational backgrounds 

• Anyone with a personal or family connection to Starved Rock State Park 

What’s Involved? 

• Let's go Hiking : Guided hiking and networking experience

• Optional: Sharing your story in your own words on social media

• Optional: Participation in a short documentary film and community project 

Why Participate? 

• Help preserve community stories 

• Contribute to racial and community healing 

• Be part of a shared Illinois story 

Interested? 

Participation is voluntary. No acting neccessary, no media experience is required.
