About this Event
Stories of Place: A Creative Listening, Reading & Writing Evening
Step into the sounds, images and stories of West Wight.
As part of West Wight: Portraits of a Landscape, EarthMuseum and Naked Figleaf Press invite you to experience a selection of powerful photographic portraits, sound recordings and creative writing capturing connections between people and this UNESCO Biosphere landscape.
Throughout the evening, featured writers will share original poetry and prose inspired by the landscape of West Wight. Their readings will sit alongside immersive sound and image presentations from the EarthMuseum project.
Audience members will also be invited to take part in a relaxed creative response session - writing short haiku, prose fragments, sensory sketches, or reflections inspired by what they hear, remember, and imagine.
Whether you come to write, listen, read, reflect, or simply immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the evening, all are welcome. No experience required - just curiosity, imagination, and a love of place.
Made possible through the generous financial support provided by the Creative Island/ Hampshire and Isle of Wight Community Fund Past Futures programme; with funding provided by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
