About this Event
As part of our 200 Years of Manchester Art Gallery programme, Peter Davis, archivist for the Manchester Academy of Fine Arts will be giving us a rare glimpse into the MAFA archives and we’ll hear about some of the fascinating things that have happened their 165 years’ history. He’s going to tell us about some of their past members including the painters LS Lowry and Annie Swynnerton and the sculptor John Cassidy; show some never-seen-before letters from Lowry and touch on some forgotten stories from these well-known artists.
The talk will last approximately an hour, including a Q&A, and appeal to anyone who appreciates art and art history.
