There is a human life behind every piece of art.On March 29th, we gather to explore the Transition to Modern Times. I will share stories covering 100 years of music history — from the late 19th century to the very end of the 20th — and how composers found new ways to express a rapidly changing world.
What to expect:
A Century in Stories: A guided journey from the late 1800s to the turn of the millennium.
A Mysterious Masterpiece: We will dedicate our listening time to one monumental "hidden gem" written in 1999. I’m keeping the title a surprise, but it is a profound bridge between the old world and the new.
A Curated Guide: I’m preparing a take-home guide with my personal recommendations for modern music, movies, and books to help you explore this era further.
Social Time: Stay after the session for light refreshments, snacks, and conversation.
This is not a formal lecture, but a thoughtful and social way to experience the human side of music.
When: Sunday, March 29th | 2:00 PM
Where: Hillside United Church (Sanctuary)
Admission: Free
Save the Date: Our series finale, a live Piano Trio concert, will be on April 19th at 2:00 PM at the same location!
