Featured Book: The Gigantic Turnip by Alexsei Tolstoy and Niamh Sharkey
Look for this story represented on objects in the exhibition A Thousand Nesting Dolls. When an unexpectedly large vegetable grows in their garden, an elderly couple must turn to an unlikely cast of animal friends for help managing the harvest. This retelling of a traditional Russian tale celebrates teamwork, cooperation, and the joys– and challenges!– of gardening.
