About this Event
STOP THE BLEED is one of our nation's largest public health campaigns designed to encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped, and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives. Its goal is to save lives by training people across the country how to stop traumatic bleeding.
Participants will learn to:
- Recognize signs of uncontrolled bleeding.
- Describe the progressive strategy for controlling bleeding.
- Take appropriate actions while waiting for emergency responders to arrive.
- Apply direct pressure and wound packing using hemostatic dressing on open bleeding wounds.
- Apply tourniquet correctly on wounded extremities.
- Partcipants will receive certificates at the end of class. Ensure to write your name correctly.
Classroom Settings:
- All participants need to wear a mask (optional).
- Practice social distancing.
- We will provide gloves for the hands-on skill portion.
- Please, bring pen and paper to take notes as needed.

Direction to Valley Special Center - Building Q Basement Room 160
- Take the 1st floor elevator to Basement
- Turn Right and walk staight once you are out of the elevator
- Turn Right again once you see colorful balloons. Room 160 will be on your left side.
