STONER KINGSFormed in 2000 by Canadian-Finnish pro wrestler and vocalist Michael "StarBuck" Majalahti, Stoner Kings emerged from the Finnish underground with a mission to bring groove-laden, riff-heavy stoner metal to the masses. Influenced greatly early on by Unida’s Coping with the Urban Coyote, Spiritual Beggars’ Ad Astra and Entombed’s To Ride, Shoot Straight and Speak the Truth albums, fused with ‘80s hard rock sensibilities, Stoner Kings got off to an ambitious start.
With a sound that fuses the raw energy of heavy metal with the mantra-like groove riffs of desert rock, the band quickly gained a cult following in the early 2000s. After a hiatus from 2008 to 2016, the group returned with a refreshed lineup and renewed energy. The band's latest studio album, Hive Mind, is their most ambitious offering to date, released in October of last year.
