Paranormal History of Stoneleigh Abbey
🕯️ 1. The Ghostly Monk
Most frequently reported apparition: a Cistercian monk, believed to date back to the Abbey’s medieval period.
Sightings:
Often seen walking silently through the cloister ruins or along the old river path, especially at dusk.
Described as wearing a white habit with a hood, head bowed, as if in prayer.

Description:
A woman in a flowing grey gown, often seen gliding through the Great Hall or near the Grand Staircase.

Believed to be Mary Leigh, a family member who died tragically in the 18th century after a rumored broken engagement.
