About this Event
Join us at Stockroom for a relaxed and informal screening of Pride (2014), presented as part of our Delve Programme!
Based on the true events of the 1984-1985 Miners' Strike in the UK, Pride (2014) is a heart-warming film starring familiar British favourites including Imelda Staunton, Bill Nighy, Dominic West, Andrew Scott and George MacKay.
Exploring themes of belonging, found family, solidarity and LGBTQIA+ heritage, this film has been selected to be screened alongside our current exhibition Saturday Town: Our People, to broaden the conversation about LGBTQIA+ histories and experiences.
Expect: A blockbuster 80s soundtrack, plenty of laughs, solidarity forever, a snowy Welsh winter, and powerful performances.
A mixture of comfortable and relaxed seating options will be available, the lights will be low, you are free to come and go, move and stretch as the film plays, but we do ask that you are mindful of everyoneβs viewing experience. The film will be shown with subtitles.
Pride (2014) has been awarded a 15 certificate by the BBFC due to occasional strong language and scenes of a sexual nature.
Running Time: 120 minutes
