Join us for our new Craft and Wellbeing group at Meanwood Community Centre
If you've been feeling low throughout lockdown, fancy trying a new craft to support your wellbeing and mental health or just need some headspace to relax and get creative then this group is for you.
An informal craft group and a creative, welcoming and inspiring space for you to work on your own craft projects, try new crafts and share skills and ideas with like-minded people. You'll have the opportunity to discuss what you might like to learn and we will support you along the way. We will also have some activities and tools available for you to try at your own pace. You don't need any previous experience to attend, everyone is welcome.
There are only very limited places on this group due to social distancing measures so booking a ticket is essential. All we ask is for a £3.50 contribution towards the running of the group. If after booking you are no longer able to attend then please cancel your ticket so someone else can attend.
This group will be run at our beautiful new community hub at Meanwood Community Centre. The Stitch-Up Community Hub focuses on craft and wellbeing groups and courses for adults and a holistic approach to helping improve everyday wellbeing, strengthen support networks, reduce loneliness and isolation and promote positive mental health through creativity and connection. Partly funded by Leeds City Council through Leeds Community Foundation.
We are operating as a covid safe venue and have the following measures in place to keep everyone safe without compromising your experience. Please read these before attending:.
* Sanitising stations on entry and exit of all spaces
* Extra cleaning and hygiene measures in place
* Smaller class sizes and socially distanced workspaces on tables
* We will provide tea and coffee if you bring your own reusable cups and you are welcome to bring your own drinks and snacks if you wish.
* Any materials provided will be individually packaged and any shared tools will be sanitised between uses.
* Face masks must be worn on arrival and while moving around in the centre and studio, but can be removed once sitting down.
* Please do not attend the studio if you have experienced any symptoms of Covid 19 in the 14 days prior to attending or have been in contact with anyone else who has had symptoms.
These measures adhere with current government guidelines but we will keep them updated.
We are really looking forward to welcoming everyone in
