To celebrate Stirlingโs 900th anniversary, Stirling Council and Scene Stirling invited local schools, community groups, artists, and residents to come together and create unique textile banners that captured the spirit of Stirling. The project was supported by GOSSIP collective, and Lead Artist, Audrey McMenemy hosted engagement sessions and provided guidance, inspiration, and delivered a fun creative project for all.
The banners created are beautifully crafted pieces, creatively reflecting our rich history, and were displayed at Stirling Castle for one night only as part of the 900 Finale celebration in March 2025. Now they will be displayed in exhibition at Tolbooth Gallery this Nov and Dec 2025.
They were made by a wide group of participants from across our community, with each participant designing a triangular or circular element, which was then included in the series of large-scale textile banners, using sustainable, recycled, or repurposed fabric.
Exhibition Opening dates: Saturday 8th November to Saturday 20th December.
Visit Tuesday to Saturday, 10am -5pm.
