Stillness in Motion: A Meditation Series
Advertisement
This meditation series invites visitors to experience 60-minute sessions guided by yoga, meditation, and sound healing educator Jen Vagios while immersed in Bill Viola: Moving Stillness. Shown in a darkened room, the installation features a calm pool of water reflecting a projected video of Mount Rainier, accompanied by an immersive soundscape. Each session explores themes of perception, presence, and inner clarity through a blend of guided meditation, breathwork, gentle movement, and subtle sensory elements.
Recommended for ages 14+. No experience is necessary—just a willingness to slow down and turn inward. Capacity is limited. Advance registration is recommended.
About Jen Vagios

Schedule
Session 1: Perception — The Mirror of the Mind
Saturday, September 6, 3pm
As Mount Rainier’s reflection in Viola’s work is altered by ripples, so too can thoughts distort perception. This session explores how breath and imagery can bring clarity to our inner and outer vision.
Session 2: Time — The Slow Unfolding
Saturday, November 15, 3pm
We’ll explore slowing down and tuning into inner rhythms, in harmony with the pacing of the installation.
Session 3: Stillness — Between Movement and Meaning
Saturday, January 17, 2026, 3pm
Explore the interplay of motion and stillness through breath, sound, and sensory awareness.
Session 4: Seeing Clearly — A Return to the Mountain
Saturday, March 21, 2026, 3pm
Just as the image of Mount Rainier reappears when the water settles, this final session offers space for integration, inviting insight and reconnection through guided meditation and breathwork.
