Still on the Hill is a national and internationally touring duo from Arkansas that has been described as “Ambassadors of The Ozarks “ for the work they do to preserve a rich culture that is quickly disappearing. Kelly and Donna Mulhollan are award winning storytellers and songwriters who embellish their songs with a multitude of unique hand made instruments from the hills they call home. Along with the inimitable instruments, Still on the Hill will be performing their own crankies.
“What’s a Crankie?” you may ask?
Crankies are moving panoramic storytelling machines. Artistic scenes are depicted on a scroll, loaded into a box where the story, song, or poem is cranked along. Crankies can incorporate puppets and theatrical elements along with the story or song.
