Steven And The Evens bio:
Steven and the Evens is the new project of founding Odds co-frontman Steven Drake. The band performs Odds songs from the definitive lineup of the band, focusing on material from the first four Odds albums. The power trio features Drake on vocals and guitar as well as former Mathew Good Band drummer Ian Browne and Hunting frontman Brad Ferguson on bass and vocals.
Steven was a member of Odds from (1987-1999) during which they released the albums Neopolitan, Bedbugs, Good Weird Feeling and Nest. These albums spawned multiple Canadian radio hits and received 6 Juno nominations. The Odds toured extensively during the 1990s, including as an opening act for The
Tragically Hip and Warren Zevon. Steven Drake is the voice behind the singles Truth Untold, Eat My Brain, Heterosexual Man, Wendy Under the Stars, I Would Be Your Man.
Steven’s interest in the recording side of music led to him mixing their platinum selling album Good Weird Feeling as well as recording and mixing the gold selling follow up, Nest.
Outside the Odds, Drake became one of Canada’s most in demand mixer/producer’s, mixing The Tragically Hip's 1996 8X platinum album Trouble at the Henhouse, which won the Juno for Album of the Year. And later mixing the Tragically Hip’s 2000 album music @ work, also scoring a Juno for Best Rock
Album. In 2001 Steven took on the role of producer and mixer for the Gord Downie solo album Coke Machine Glow. He has gone on to produce and mix countless others.
