It is hard to believe that it has already been more than seven months since Steve passed away. I know that many of us are still struggling to understand that he is gone and there is no question that he has left a void in many of our lives. We want to celebrate Steve at one of his favorite places, Osprey Point. Steve spent a lot of his free time maintaining Osprey Point and connecting people to the outdoors, whether it be via teaching kids to fish, shoot archery, bowhunt, or simply enjoy nature. This will be an opportunity for all of us to come together, particularly those who were not able to attend Steve's funeral in September, to remember all of the good times we shared with Steve when he was with us. In addition to celebrating Steve and sharing stories, we will be dedicating an archery / wildlife viewing platform that he had envisioned for many years and designed before his passing. Thanks to the help of some of the Brown County Chapter of the Izaak Walton League and Southern Brown Conservation Club, we were able to make Steve's dream for the elevated archery platform a reality.
We invite all of our family and friends, and anyone else who knew Steve to join us. We also encourage you to bring your children and/or grandchildren as we will have fishing poles and bait for the kids to fish. After all, that is what Steve would want - if he could, he would be out there teaching kids how to fish and encouraging them to enjoy the outdoors.
So come out and join us for this celebration.
