Earle is one of the most acclaimed singer-songwriters of the past 40 years. A protégé of legendary songwriters Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark, he became a master storyteller in his own right, with his songs being recorded by Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Emmylou Harris, The Pretenders, and many others. His 1986 album Guitar Town went to number one on the country charts and is now regarded as a classic of the Americana genre. Earle’s 1988 hit “Copperhead Road” was made an official state song of Tennessee in 2023.
Earle is an extraordinary musical talent. In addition to his prolific songwriting career, he has also produced award-winning albums for Joan Baez and Lucinda Williamns, among others, and hosts a weekly show, Hard Core Troubadour, on Sirius Radio. Earle is a member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Grand Ole Opry.
