To celebrate the launch of BFI Replay across Merthyr Tydfil libraries, join us in Merthyr Central Library for this unique, free event exploring the archives and collaborative work of the British Film Institute and the National Library of Wales Screen and Sound Archive (LLGCNLW)
You'll hear archival insights from the BFI and National Library of Wales, and watch Welsh highlights from BFI Replay, before finishing with a special screening of Merthyr Mummy, a short film made with young people about the unique collection of Egyptian and Nubian Art donated by local explorer Harry Southey to Cyfarthfa Castle Museum and Art Gallery. Merthyr Mummy is a Gritty Realism Production, funded by the Arts Council of Wales.
BFI Replay is a free-to-access, digital archive uncovering stories from across the UK, its history and its people.
This event is supported by the BFI Screen Heritage Fund, awarding National Lottery funding.
