About this Event

Join artist Anney Bounpraseuth for a creative full-day hands-on workshop that brings together printing and embroidery in a different way.

Designed for beginners, this four-hour session explores how simple techniques can be combined to create bold and expressive textile artworks. No prior experience is required, and all materials are provided.

Inspired by Dhaka textiles from Nepal, you will experiment and create your own stencils to print patterns onto fabric, before enhancing your designs with colourful hand stitching. This process encourages playful layering and personal expression, resulting in a unique textile piece to take home. The workshop offers a relaxed and supportive environment to learn new skills while engaging with the visual language of pattern and colour through craft.

Please note that lunch is not included. A full one-hour break will be provided, giving you the option to bring your own lunch to enjoy in the workshop space or nearby courtyard, or to visit a local café or restaurant

This program is linked to our permanent exhibition ‘Woven from a Hundred Flowers’, offering a creative way to connect with the themes and stories presented in the gallery. The exhibition will be on display until 30 August 2026, more information here Georges River Council - Woven from a hundred flowers
