Join us Saturday, March 14 from 10am-1:30pm for STEM Saturday: The Power of Magnets, sponsored by a grant from Halliburton. UL Lafayette Physics Students will be at UL Lafayette Science Museum with extra activities all about magnets and electricity. At any given time, there are on average 50 magnetic systems within 20 feet of you. Your phone relies on small magnets, your car relies on larger magnets, and jet engines rely on even larger magnets. Come learn about magnetism and electricity, watch a magnet stop itself before colliding with a metal block and experience small electromagnetic lightning!STEM Saturday activities are included with regular museum admission. Activities are open-ended allowing visitors to come and go while touring exhibits and the planetarium. Best for elementary and middle school ages, but older kids and adults can have fun learning something new or helping younger children.
