About this Event
The Colorado Office of Policy, Research, and Regulatory Reform (COPRRR) is conducting a Sunrise Review of an application submitted by Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) to determine if Colorado should adopt a statewide license for its HVAC technicians. DRCOG with support from Xcel Energy’s Partners in Energy is inviting you to participate in the stakeholder engagement process to ensure your voice is heard.
The sessions will include an overview of the Sunrise Review process, followed by an opportunity for you to help answer the following questions: What are the potential risks of a statewide license for HVAC technicians? Similarly, what are the risks of not having a statewide license for HVAC technicians? What harm is occurring that would justify state intervention in the marketplace?
On December 31, 2025, COPRRR will publish its determination in a comprehensive document, including its recommendation for or against licensure, and justification behind that decision.
To participate, attend this in-person listening session for industry representatives and be prepared to share your comments (breakfast burritos and coffee will be served).
Your perspective is critical to informing the direction that Colorado should move toward.
