About this Event
This listening session, hosted by the State Health Improvement Plan (SHIP) team at WA State Department of Health alongside Gonzaga University School of Public Health, gives public health system partners and community members the opportunity to meaningfully contribute to developing the SHIP.
The SHIP is a long-term, system-wide plan to focus efforts on critical health issues facing Washingtonians. It describes how DOH will work with the community we serve to improve the health of all Washingtonians, and is used to set statewide public health priorities.
This hybrid listening session provides the opportunity for members of the public to help determine what priorities will be included on the SHIP. As a participant, you will:
- Learn about statewide data findings from the state health assessment
- Provide critical input towards determining statewide public health priorities to be addressed in the SHIP
- Work to identify priority alignment between community, tribal partners, and public health organizations
- Participate in efforts to improve population health through a decolonizing and antiracism approach in partnership with UW ARCH and UW Seven Directions
Please note this is one of three listening sessions. It is for Washington West Side. We also have an East Side listening session opportunity, and will schedule one for specifically for Tribal partners at a later time.
