About this Event
Do you get a bit nervous when networking?
Do you want to have relaxed conversations with other women who understand the difficulties of starting a business?
Are you looking for a community to support your startup or freelancing journey?
The Lark Network is just what you’re looking for!
The Lark Network is a group of women and non-binary folx who meet monthly for informal networking over tea and coffee.
Monthly topic of conversation: Developing Your Brand Values with Tara Goddard.

Each month, we pick a new topic to help focus our conversations and help you get the most out of the event.
In May, along with our usual cuppa and chat, we'll be joined by Tara Goddard, who will help us discover and articulate our brand values.
This is a crucial step when starting a business, as having a clear understanding of your values can support all kinds of decisions and develop your brand's 'personality'.
About Our Guest Speaker, Dr. Tara Goddard
Dr. Tara Goddard has a PhD in Marketing and recently left academia to pursue a more entrepreneurial path as a coach, mentor and educator. Tara combines her passion for education with her extensive knowledge of marketing to help individuals and entrepreneurs realise their aspirations.

If you're new to Lark, here's what you can expect from our events...
😊 A relaxed environment with informal conversations where you can get to know other women who work for themselves
🙂 A friendly group of women who understand that self-employment or starting a business can be tough, especially if you face additional challenges in life.
👶 Child-friendly networking with activities to keep the kids occupied (including all the fabulous books in the children's section of the library!)
☕️ Free tea, coffee and light snacks funded by the Portsmouth Community Lottery fund.
⏰ We don't do "late"! Drop in any time between 11:30am and 1:30pm - we understand life gets busy so don't stress if you're not there for the 'start'!
We do things a bit differently at Lark.
You won’t be asked to do your elevator pitch (although if you want help perfecting it, we’ll be more than happy to help!). We’re not about pushy sales.
We believe in giving you the time and space to build genuine connections with other women, allowing you to create a real support network.
We're a supportive community where you can ask for help.
We don’t feel you should have to choose between your business and your babies, so children are welcome to attend.
Our networking is completely free to access. However, you can help keep our services low or no cost for the women who need them by making a donation to The Lark Network. Simply buy a donation ticket when you register.
Startup Sunday is funded by Portsmouth Community Lottery!
We're delighted to have received funding from the Portsmouth Community Lottery Fund. This enables us to offer free tea, coffee and a selection of sweet and savoury treats at each event.
