About this Event
Join us at the beautiful Joaquin Miller Park Meadow for a multi-generational seed exchange and seed starting skill share. As always, this gathering will be centered on Black land connection, Black health and of course, Black joy. We welcome Black children, adults, parents, caregivers, aunties, uncles, grandparents, teachers and community members (and their loved ones)to join us.
About the gathering:
It's hard to believe but Spring is right around the corner and that means it's time to start thinking about seeds. Together we will:
- share seeds starting tips and tricks
- exchange seeds (have extra seeds on hand? great bring 'em. Don't have seeds on hand? no problem, we got you)
Why learn about this?
For many folks starting plants from seeds can be intimidating but starting your plants from seed provides a lot of benefits:
- its really fun, especially for kiddos to watch the transition from seed to eventually food
- it can be more cost effective
- it gives you access to a wider varieties of crops
- you can create the ideal conditions for seed germination (sprouting) and plant health
