We are starting weekly Blues Dance Classes in Amsterdam!Beginners
Blues dancing can be a wonderful start in the world of dancing. It is easy to learn the basics and after a few classes you can dance so a big various styles of music, Blues and more. But also for those who have dancing other styles like Lindy Hop, Tango, Salsa or Ballroom, Blues will be a very valuable expansion of your repertoire. Finally those who just began Blues dancing before we all went in lockdown, it might be good to reboot before you move on.
So (re)start your Blues dance career. No experience required, not in Blues or any dance. We start with the very basics and build a solid foundation for your future Blues dancing. And of course we will have a lot of fun along the way.
The lessons will be easy on your energy so anyone, of all ages and fitness, can join. If you can walk, you can dance Blues!

Improvers
Beside the beginners course, The Blues Joints will offer a course for more experienced dancers, aka the ‘improvers’. The level of experience required will be roughly equivalent to having taken three or more Blues courses.
Imagine a big band playing a slow jazz, dim lights, that end-of-the-night lazy chatter from the tables around the dance floor…that’s it! This block we will be focusing on the iconic style called Ballrooming, diving into the moves and the feel that characterizes this genre of Blues. We will work on signature techniques among which close embrace, contra body movement, some fancy dips and traveling with groove. As we are all coming back to the dance after a long break, so no worries if you are feeling rusty, the accent will be placed on finding the flow in the moves and in connecting to the music.
