Swapped blocks can be assembled into whatever keepsake quilting projects you'd like to make to commemorate America's 250th celebration!
Quilt Block Requirements
Finished Block Size
- 12" finished (12½" unfinished)
Theme
- Patriotic / Americana
- Red, white, and blue color palette
Fabric
- 100% quilting quality cotton
Block Style
- Participants may choose their own design as long as it finishes at 12" square. Star patterns encouraged. If you are looking for an easy suggestions, contact Miss Kerri for some simple pattern ideas.
Construction Guidelines
To help all the blocks fit together nicely in the finished quilt:
Seams
- Use a ¼ inch seam allowance
Pressing
- Blocks should be pressed flat
- Seams should not be bulky
Sizing
- Blocks should measure 12½" unfinished
- Please square up your block before bringing it to the swap
Quality
- Secure stitching
- No loose threads
- Fabric should be clean and pressed
Number of Blocks
The number of blocks each participant makes will depend on the total number of participants.
- Example guidelines: 8 Participants = Make 8 Blocks
- Participants keep one of their own blocks and swap the rest.
- Final numbers will be confirmed after registration closes March 31st
